Retain is a marketplace with one focus: connecting law firms with board-certified physician expert witnesses. Finding the right medical expert still runs on cold calls, stale directories, and referral luck, while thousands of qualified physicians who want to do this work are never found. We built the infrastructure both sides deserve: verified credentials, structured profiles, transparent fees, and matching that starts from the case itself.
How we operate
Verification before visibility
No expert appears in a match until license, board certification, and disciplinary history have been reviewed. The short list you see is already screened.
Aligned incentives
We charge one per-search fee and take nothing from expert fees. Experts keep 100% of what they bill; firms know exactly what the platform costs.
Substance over salesmanship
Structured, CV-grounded profiles, specialties, experience, publications, testimony history, so experts are chosen on qualifications, not marketing.
Physician-respectful by design
Doctors set their own fees, accept only cases that interest them, and stay anonymized until they choose to engage.

Michael Torres

Michael has spent more than 25 years leading sales and marketing teams in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and healthcare diagnostics. He has managed P&L up to $150M and has a track record of taking products from launch to national scale — including 10 product launches, among them blockbuster brands like Prilosec and Nexium.
Most recently, Michael served as Chief Commercial Officer at WearLinq, a remote cardiac diagnostics startup, leading its U.S. commercial launch. Before that, as President and CEO of Artella Solutions, he grew patient volume 10x in six months for a digital cardiac diagnostics platform. Earlier, Michael spent over a decade at Ferring Pharmaceuticals — redesigning training, analytics, and territory alignment for a 300+ member field organization, then running a $150M national business as Director of Sales, U.S., where his 52-person team beat plan in 7 of 9 years.
He holds a BA in Speech Communication from Lamar University.
